As the end Dempsey and Karry are unhitched and ground driven away by Scott harmon to return through the grounds and several security gates to the horse trailer leaving the wagon for the tree to be unloaded by the White House Grounds crew. It was unloaded by a Cherry Picker and carefully carried into the Blue Room. 2 1/2 feet still had to be cut from the tree to make it 18 feet so it would fit in The Blue Room. The chandelier had to be removed to accomodate the tree. Decorators and Florists from all over the country were waiting to decorate the tree and the rest of The House.

Harmon's Horse Drawn Carriages will once again be at the White House! Be sure to watch the evening news on Monday, November 26th. Scott, with Dempsey and Karry will be bringing in the White House Christmas Tree! It is supposed to go out Nationally so hopefully it will be shown in your area on the evening news.

Tuesday, June 19th
Vis-a-Vis Carriages pulled by Harmon's Belgian Draft Horses at The White House

Harmon's Horse Drawn Carriages provided two Vis-a-Vis Carriages each pulled by a team of Belgian Draft Horses for The White House. The occasion was The Congressional Picnic for an estimated 1,500 Senators, Representatives and their families. This year's picnic had a mardi Gras theme with Mardi Gras necklaces, jazz musicians, Kermit Ruffins and The Barbecue Swingers and Paul Prudhomme, renowned new Orleans Chef, who with his staff prepared the Cajun supper.

The Carriage rides were an enormous attraction for the guests. One carriage started on each side of The White House. They did a tour along half of the Circle Drive around the House passing between the view of The White House and the East Lawn on one side and the Ellipse, Washington and Jefferson Monuments on the other. A beautiful drive.
